Christmas Preparations

The tree is full! We are ready ready ready for Christmas!!!

I decided to take a few of my favorite shots from our Europe trip and hang them up. I was so proud of myself as I did the whole process myself (except for Noah getting the nails straight) from taking the pictures, editing them in photoshop, making the enlargements, mounting them, and painting and sanding the frames. They're hanging in out kitchen now...the framed photos are below so you can see them better.

Flight Update...

I just thought I'd update the family on my flight progress. On Friday I took the FAA written knowledge exam for my commercial helicopter pilot license. I passed with a 91% (a few airplane questions tricked me, those darn airplanes!) I'm pleased with my test score and on my overall midterms I scored a 98% getting only one question wrong. Once I re-read the question I realized I had answered it to fast so I should have scored a 100%. I'm at the top of my class right now and on schedule to be graduating sometime in March most likely. I started flying the R44 (4 seater chopper - Shown above) this week to begin working on my instrument rating. It's been a lot of fun learning to fly without ever looking out the windows...all instruments only! Pretty crazy! I'll let you know how it goes as I continue progressing. Love you all! - Noah

How much is that doggy in the window?

For real, people, how can you resist? If you don't have a yard (like me) I understand, but look at them! Please tell anyone you know who might be interested about these little guys and girls. They are so sweet! I got a puppy for Christmas one year and I loved it! Best Christmas present ever...

Christmas Spirit

Well, when I got home from school today, I decided it was time to get the Christmas tree set up. I had forgotten how much I like my brown and gold ornaments I got at Tai Pan last year...

I also got started wrapping presents. So far, there are 5 for Noah from me, plus one each for Mia, Jack, Landon, Luke, and Noah G. Oh yeah, and one for me, but it's not wrapped, 'cause it's a big old fabric cutting board thing that was pretty impossible to wrap. Man, Noah is good at picking out exactly what I want, isn't he?

Mom gave me these little votive holders last year...

More Tai Pan goodies from last year...

The "Believe" sign Anissa gave me last year goes perfectly on the shelf in my kitchen. I want photos of everyone's decorations and presents as they go up, okay???

Better Late than Never...right?

This is my beautiful, handsome nephew, Jack. If you haven't already seen them, go to Chelsea and Max's blog and look at the pictures...they are amazing.

Noah and I went down a few weekends ago so we could meet little Jack in person since we had to leave just hours before his birth! I just wanted to hold and hug him and never let go...

We also celebrated Billie Jo and Ellie Jo's birthdays (and it was Patrice's too) while we were there by having dinner at Red Lobster. Ellie decided on crab legs, and boy was she surprised when they came out and she realized there were legs on her plate!

She seems happy now...but after a while I think the crab legs were too much for her. She traded them to Uncle Max and her Dad and ate a little of my salmon.

It was a fun weekend...sorry it took so long to report! I don't have much going on right now...just working my buns off in school. A few more weeks in this semester before I get a break, and begin my FINAL semester before graduation!

I did it, I did it!

I made a flan! We had dinner at our friends' house tonight (yummy--the first time I've had Indian food) and she loves flan, so Noah wanted me to make one. I've never done it before, so I Anissa gave me her oven-baked flan instructions, and I took a stab at it. It ended up really really great!
I'll have to make one for Tim, and anyone else who likes Flan!
