Flight Update...

I just thought I'd update the family on my flight progress. On Friday I took the FAA written knowledge exam for my commercial helicopter pilot license. I passed with a 91% (a few airplane questions tricked me, those darn airplanes!) I'm pleased with my test score and on my overall midterms I scored a 98% getting only one question wrong. Once I re-read the question I realized I had answered it to fast so I should have scored a 100%. I'm at the top of my class right now and on schedule to be graduating sometime in March most likely. I started flying the R44 (4 seater chopper - Shown above) this week to begin working on my instrument rating. It's been a lot of fun learning to fly without ever looking out the windows...all instruments only! Pretty crazy! I'll let you know how it goes as I continue progressing. Love you all! - Noah

YES, first comment! Congrats Noah, I always thought flying only by the instruments was a little scary. It was crazy how your equilibrium can tell you that you are level when you are not. I can't wait to go on a ride.

Oh NO! I am begging you to please look out the windows when you fly! That it too scary and I think you might crash into a mountain or something! Congrats on doing so well on your exams. I didn't realize you were so competitive too!

Ya, it really is crazy. I was told to close my eyes and keep flying for a min or so to see how your brain can trick you and sure enough, I felt like I was doing a great job but when I opened my eyes I realized we were rolling to the left when I was convinced I was slowly turning right. Crazy times!

Thats so awesome! Congratulations and keep it up. Now that I know you are so smart... maybe I'll be willing to ride in the helicopter with you after all. JK... I cant wait to go up. That R-22 is pretty cool looking. I cant wait til u are flying the MD500E with me as your designated sniper!

Hey - great for you! I knew you were competetive when I sat next to you through three dance competitions! You are the best and we are so proud of you for your accomplishments. I will have to take a dramamine to go up with you, but I WILL overcome and do it! Can't wait!
