Tummy Time and other tidbits...

Rajko likes to be on his tummy, especially if it's on the Boppy pillow and not the floor. I took some pictures of him during his tummy time, and I had to include a lot so you could see how strong he thinks he is! He feel the needs to crawl completely out of the pillow!

Lifting his head...notice that his body is mostly inside the boppy.

Starting to push with his legs...stomach is edging over the pillow.

Pushing with BOTH legs...

....but he got stuck here, so I finally saved him.

Also, we tried our first bottle feeding. He seemed to take the bottle okay, but it was at the height of his reflux sensitivity, so the feeding didn't really go well. We'll be trying again today with some different milk and see how it goes!

By the way...remember how I mentioned being paranoid that something I was eating was making him sick? Well, actually it was! Rajko has a mild case of reflux, and it acts up when I eat dairy. So, I get to cut out all the dairy in my diet :( No milk, cheese, butter, chocolate, etc. If you can't feel my pain, you should eat my mom's food for a few days. Then you'd understand why these are my favorite things to eat.

It's been 2 days since I cut the dairy, and I've already seen a VAST improvement in Rajko. He doesn't scream and cry while or after he's eating, and his sleeping is going back to normal, too. He's been a pretty restless sleeper as the inflamation in his tummy has built up over the past couple of weeks, so we're hoping he'll go back to peaceful slumber as I continue to sacrifice my favorite things to eat!

It's pretty crazy how quickly you realize you would do ANYTHING or sacrifice ANYTHING just to save your child pain, and not think twice about it. Parenthood is so crazy....and great!

Finally, baby Rajko got a visit from Aunt Bonnie and Tanille! Tanille's little girl, Mackenzie, was SO cute. She is so smart and asks all sorts of questions and was loving the baby. Isn't she a cutie?

I am happy you know now how to help him. You can buy all your favorite Easter treats and I will lock them up for you to get back in a few months! ;) Rajko is lucky to have such a good mama.

What a strong boy! He really is such a cutie. Giselle, I know just how you feel. I had to go without dairy for six months and it was horrible. Make sure you are taking calcium supplements. I didn't take them as often as I should have and ended up with 5 cavities!

Sorry I hadn't commented yet on the previous post, but I was very excited to see another one so soon!!

I'm glad to hear he's getting better, and like I told you, only a mommy would know when her baby isn't acting right. It would be VERY difficult for me to sacrifice all those foods, but it is true that moms do sacrifice anything for their kids!

He is such a strong little guy! Before you know it, he'll be rolling over and sitting up, then hitting you and telling you no! Let the adventures begin!

Yes, he and little Jack boy look so much alike to me in many of the pictures!

What a cutie. You'll love the boppy pillow. Duncan spent lots of time in his- at the therapists' request, but they really are good for them. Anyway- I feel your pain- I didn't have to give up anything in my diet, but I know what it is like to have a fussy baby dealing with what they are eating. Duncan had a "special recipe" with out dairy as well for a while. Hopefully things get better now you know the fix!! Good luck! He's adorable!

What a cute baby! I am afraid he will be so big by the time I finally get to see him again! Keep doing what you have to do -- that's what Mommies do!How is the flying going and how is the schedule coming?

I want to eat him up!!!!!!! He is seriously handsome. Not all babies are cute, but he totally is. I can't believe how strong he is. Those skinny little legs sure are strong.

Sorry about the dairy thing. Luke was soooooooooo fussy and difficult. I am glad that back then doctors didn't get so into the tummy problems because it would be hard to give up stuff you love. Luke's pediatrician said that since he was gaining weight just fine that I should just wait it out, and sure enough by about 3 months he was over the spitting and fussiness. Good luck. I know how CRAZY it can feel to have a baby who cries all of the time.

I love coming to your blog and seeing pictures of Rajko. He is so cute and in these last series he looks so much like a little baby version of Noah. I'm glad you found out about the Dairy thing and I knew you would have no problem doing whatever to make life easier for Rajko. That's the beautiful thing about motherhood and that's what makes prophets compare it to Godliness. Love you guys so much!

Just an update...Rajko has continued to have a hard time eating and being in pain, so we are trying the next step - he started a prescription for heartburn/antacid, and we'll see how it goes!!! It's so sad to see him cry and squirm in pain, so we're hoping this will do the trick. Wish us luck finding the exact measures we need!
