It's Official!

I bought my plane ticket last night! I'm flying in to see my cute wife dance in her last UVSC Ballroom concert. I am so excited to come home for a weekend and spend as much time as possible with her. The other official thing is that I completed my "Pilot Safety Course" at Robinson helicopters and I am ready to start flying full time again on Monday. The course was amazing and I really loved learning so much about the aircraft that I'll be teaching people to fly. In case you were ever wondering what an "Autorotation" (simulated engine failure in a helicopter) looks like. I have posted a video just for fun...

(This is NOT me flying... I just wanted to show what it looks like so I got this on youtube)

Giselle's Concert

Well, as many of you know, I have been dancing on UVSC's Ballroom team
again this semester. It is my last semester before graduation, and we
are preparing to compete in Blackpool, England, representing the
United States at the British Open Championships. We have a new Latin
Medley and a new Standard medley, and I will be performing in both of
those, plus other team routines and a Latin solo with one of the male
dancers on my team. I am excited about this concert, and sad that my
time as a college student with these performing opportunities is
coming to a close. I would love for any and all of you to come!

The show starts on Thursday, April 3rd and runs through Monday night.
The show is at 7:30 and tickets are $10, except for the Saturday
matinee show, which is $8. If you are interested in coming, please
e-mail or call/text me at 435.513.0834. Tickets are only sold through
the dancers, and I can put them at Will Call for you. The show is at
the Ragan Theatre at UVSC's campus, and if you have any other
questions, please let me know!

Updates!!!

Well, I was in Kamas for Easter weekend, and my entire family was there, so it was awesome! It would have been perfect if Noah would have been with me, but I still was able to enjoy the company of my family.

First of all, this is PHASE 1 of 3! My entire team is going blonde for Blackpool! I'm not keen on the idea, but I don't want to have a yellow spray-painted helmet head for the coolest competition of my life, either! So, I thought I could help it along...now if they have to spray my hair it will be for touch-up necessity only.

Easter FEAST! Oh man, we had some good stuff! Since church isn't until 12:30, we decided to have a brunch. That brunch included:
Quiche
Biscuits and Sausage Gravy
Sausage/Egg Breakfast Casserole
Ham with Secret Recipe Ham Sauce
Deviled Eggs
Fruit Pizza
Oven-Baked French Toast with Raspberry Syrup and Whipped Cream
And I think that's all....but check out Mia's face...she's so funny!

This Jack boy is so cute! I love him, but he is getting way too big too fast!

The Buti's...Mia REFUSED to take her hand out of the basket, so this is the best shot I could get! They are so funny...I absolutely am in love with these girls.

The Gunnerson boys! Noah has been sick, but still as cute as ever, and Luke blew me away with his piano skills this weekend! I tried to play one of the songs he has mastered, and I was B-A-D.

One of the highlights of the weekend was the classic McNeil competition which was bound to occur at some point with us all together. It all started with Tess tumbling in the front room and wanting to show everyone her headstands. Needless to say, this inflated to a full-blown strength and balance competition between all of us. Allen, my Dad, and I were all the best at headstands, and Allen and Tim were the champions for the wall push-ups. I won for the ladies, although there was an unfair advantage considering that Olivia is prego. Final tally for the push-up competition:
Rick and Max - 0 *Check out Tim's face...he's trying to PULL Rick up and it still didn't work...
Tim and Allen - 7
Giselle - 3
Chelsea .5 + .5 = 1? The jury's still out on that one...

Tagged! Noah

Well, I guess I was tagged too so here are 7 random facts about me...

1) I am a sucker for techno-gadget toys. I have been known to "accidentally" buy stuff on ebay due to this weakness of mine. The good thing is that 98% of the time I'm lucky and find amazing deals and when I resell my toy's I recover my money and usually a little more--making this not only a fun hobby but a part time job

2) I am a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to my career. I have 4 regular clients that employ my services for a) web design b) video production c) project management d) advertising design. And I'm training to become a helicopter pilot!

3) I love to travel. The more I travel the more I want to see. I have 3 more continents left (Asia, Africa, Antarctica) to say I've visited them all. It's a goal of mine to set foot on each of the 7 continents.

4) I've always wanted to have some sort of charitable organization that does some form of humanitarian work somewhere in the world. I would love to build a school, hospital, house for someone somewhere one day. I've owned the domain www.unite.ws for a few years and I plan on using it for some cool charity someday.

5) I have a very active imagination and I have always had the secret desire to write a story and create some kind of cool world like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. I have a story that I'm working on right now and maybe someday it'll be good enough to be a 3 series movie!

6) I lived on the Galapagos Islands for a portion of my mission and I fell in love with the wonders of nature there. Everything about the Galapagos can be described with one word "Amazing" and I hope to return there one day (possibly 2009) with Giselle to show her what a cool place it is.

7) I have always wanted to fly helicopters. I held off for fear of chasing that dream not knowing where it would take me till last year when I finally decided to just do it. I recently hit a speed bump in that career but we're driving over it and continuing down that path. The first time I flew in a helicopter I just knew it was meant to be. I absolutely love it!!

Tagged!

Well, Anissa tagged Noah and me, so...here goes! 7 random things about me...

1. I hate to clean. It's not so much the actual cleaning part...that I don't mind so much. It's just the getting started part. I will come up with any excuse in the book to put off cleaning...

2. I am a horrible procrastinator...especially when it comes to school. I'm quite positive that I've never ever completed any homework or project early. In fact, I almost always start the project around 10 pm the night before it's due. Noah hates this, because he knows he'll be sleeping alone until 2 or 3 am when I finish...BUT, you can't teach an old dog new tricks! I've been doing it this way since high school, and I've learned that I do my best thinking around midnight at crunch time.

3. I have a dream to be a jack of all trades! I love dance and teach dance, but I also have a secret wish to be a Hair Stylist, a Massage Therapist, and a Costume Designer. Plus, I want to learn how to make bows/headbands so that if I have little girls they will be totally stylin!

4. I pretend that my niece, Tess, looks just like me. The truth is, she looks more like me than the others, but she's much prettier than I was. You have to admit, though, these two pictures COULD be of the same child from different angles... We both get that tan, too!

5. I had a cyst when a was little, and have a fine scar on my eyelid from getting it removed. Until I had knee surgery in high school, the only stitches I had were both on my eyes--one from removing the cyst and one from falling off a swing, maybe??? (that scar goes right through my eyebrow!)

6. I LOVE to read. Novels...and especially books in a series! I love Harry Potter, the Twilight series, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, and lots of others! I also enjoyed Snowflower and the Secret Fan (recommended by Anissa--thank you!) and right now I am reading The Alchemist on Noah's recommendation...

7. I am considering going back to my lighter, blonder look. We're supposed to go as blonde as possible (aiming for platinum) for Blackpool, but that's a no-go for me, of course! I prefer my hair dark anyway. But for those of us who don't go platinum, we have to spray our hair, which is like a total helmet, and looks ridiculous! Anyway, I'm thinking of just going semi-lighter so that the spraying won't look so ridiculous. What do you think? Oh, and I almost forgot - I tag...Patrice!
